In the time period between the beginning of September until mid-December, the team behind the StartUp Academy, along with the help of the already proven local businessmen involved in various industries, managed to better define and help progress the work done by five different startups. On December 13, each of them presented their business ideas at the closing event - Pitch Mashup in Strumica before the public, potential investors, as well as a panel of experts consisted of experienced professionals in different business fields. The expert panel challenged the startups by asking the right questions and giving invaluable advice.
Оur CEO, Hajan Selmani, played a dual role: as an expert panelist, but also a key-note speaker of the event. He emphasized how positively surprised he was while listening to the presented business ideas, ranging from renewable energy solutions, to eco-friendly fashion accessories, to board games, to agro-consulting services and productivity software. Through his motivational speech, Hajan warned the startups of how challenging the establishing and raising of the businesses might be; suggested to never be intimidated of the hard work and the trials they'll need to go through while growing their businesses; as well as that they will need to strive for a value creation if they want the world to recognize the need for the offered products and services.
Nowadays, the computer technologies can immensly assist you while building a solid basis for your business. Make sure to find a way to take advantage of them. - Hajan Selmani
In addition, HASELT was very excited to support the event as it's General sponsor, thus encouraging and influencing the development of the entrepreneurial and startup community in Macedonia.
This Program was conducted by the StartUp Academy in collaboration with the CEED Hub Skopje, supported by the USAID Micro and small enterprises project (co-financed by the Swiss government) and implemented by CEED Macedonia for the citizens of Strumica and its region. The main goal of this Program was creating a local community of entrepreneurs and startups.
