As it is quite familiar today, “TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues.” Under this trademark stand the TEDx events, which are “a local gathering where live TED-like talks and videos previously recorded at TED conferences are shared with the community.”
Following this, it is our utmost pleasure to have had HASELT’s CEO & Founder, Hajan Selmani, deliver a talk at the recent TEDx Budva: Plug in the future.
In it, he takes the audience on a journey of self-rediscovery: starting by asking the audience to reflect back on their achievements, skills, abilities, core values they believe in – all the answers leading to the most essential definition of oneself, of who you are as a person. Then, he continuous listing the day to day responsibilities of a person as they grow old, only to paint the loop we so easily fall in again and again. To break it, Hajan suggests that he found the right cohesion of the elements which contribute to the ‘success’ as we generally like to define it, or what makes a person fulfilled. He asks:
Hypothetically imagine if right now you are the only person – or the only living being in the world, and nobody exists – everybody disappears. Tell me, are your skills, job title, and everything you have today – or even your goals, would any of it matter?
To learn what are the exact three elements Hajan believes can help you fulfill your life and make you become successful, watch his speech “The key elements of success” on the official TEDx channel on YouTube.
